Suggested walking itinerary (1 day)

Start: Santa Lucia Station

  1. Grand Canal
    As soon as you exit the station, you will see the main canal of the city.
  2. Rialto Bridge
    The most famous bridge, with shops and a beautiful view over the Grand Canal.
  3. Rialto Market
    Historic market (best in the morning).
  4. Walk through the streets (calli)
    Walk freely towards San Marco through typical Venetian streets.
  5. St. Mark’s Square
    The heart of the city.
  6. St. Mark’s Basilica
    One of the most important and impressive churches in Venice.
  7. Doge’s Palace
    Historic seat of Venetian power.
  8. Bridge of Sighs
    One of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
  9. Walk towards Dorsoduro
    A quieter and less touristy area.

Easy walking itinerary (about 4–6 hours at a relaxed pace).
